Jennifer, Director

Jennifer is highly regarded as one of New Zealand’s leading employment and health and safety lawyers, with a wealth of experience in employment litigation, industrial relations, health and safety, complex restructures, large scale Holidays Act issues, executive remuneration and regulation, executive exits and immigration law. She regularly advises on novel and complex legal issues and is passionate about providing her clients with effective tailored solutions.

She has recently been listed as a ‘Leading Partner’ in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2025, and is rated one of the leading employment lawyers in the world, by Chambers Global.

Jennifer is regularly featured in the media presenting commentary on employment law issues of the day. She frequently writes articles and contributes to media reports in the press, radio and television. You will also find Jennifer speaking at many distinguished conferences, seminars and meetings that are attended by professionals from all over New Zealand, giving tips and advice related to employment law, and Health and Safety.

Allanah, Special Counsel & Independent Workplace Investigator

Allanah joined Jennifer Mills & Associates as Special Counsel in July 2024.  Prior to this, Allanah worked as a Prosecutor with the New Zealand Police, based in Counties Manukau, where she was in court most days.  Allanah initially joined Jennifer Mills & Associates in 2020 as a law clerk, then became a Consultant to the firm.  She has also worked as a law clerk to a family law and civil litigation barrister.

Having a wealth of legal knowledge and experience, Allanah is well placed to provide our clients with comprehensive legal advice, tailored solutions and assistance to suit their individual needs.  She is a fierce advocate, and is committed to providing the highest level of service to all of our clients.   Allanah attends mediations, and conducts independent workplace investigations in relation to various allegations, including workplace bullying and sexual harassment.  Allanah also has expertise dealing with limited licence (or work licence) applications, and can assist during this process (including attending court if required).

Allanah graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Science (Chemistry major).

Gracy, Law Clerk

Gracy joined Jennifer Mills & Associates as a graduate law clerk in June 2024.  Prior to this, she completed an internship with the New Zealand Police in Auckland Central, where she contributed to legal research and the drafting of court submissions.

Gracy has diverse experience in drafting health and safety audits, restraint of trade agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements, executive remuneration and regulation, HR policies and interim injunction documents.  She has also been involved with personal grievances, negotiating exit settlements, and facilitating mediations.  Additionally, she has supported staff in providing practical advice in matters relating to immigration, disciplinary investigations and dismissals, managing poor performance, restructuring and redundancy, post-termination obligations and investigating workplace issues.

Gracy graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Health Sciences.

Gracy is actively involved in assisting in cases with legal research, opinions, and drafting documents.  She is committed to delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions and is well-equipped to advocate effectively on behalf of her clients.

Jade, Law Clerk

Jade is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Finance and Information Systems), at the University of Auckland. She joined Jennifer Mills and Associates in June 2024.

Jade is actively involved in assisting in cases with legal research, opinions, and drafting documents. She is dedicated to assisting clients in any way possible.
